Mining electrical drafting & BIM services.

Electrical drafting, BIM modeling, protection studies, hazardous-area classification, and shutdown packages for tier-1 operators, mid-tier miners, and mining EPCs. AS/NZS and NEC compliant.

AS/NZS 3000 AS/NZS 60079 (Ex) NEC Art. 500/505 IEEE 1584 Arc Flash Microstation
§01 — Overview

Mining projects run on drawing volume your in-house team can't produce fast enough.

Every mining project — greenfield, expansion, or shutdown — generates thousands of sheets of electrical, structural, and BIM documentation. Every one has to land on time, pass operator QA, and survive the field without rework.

We produce that documentation as a dedicated extension of your team: certified drafters working to your client's standards, inside your title blocks, QA'd against the applicable jurisdiction code. Onshore project management in San Diego; offshore production scale via our Pakistan facility.

  • Experience with Rio Tinto, Fortescue, BHP, Anglo American drafting standards
  • AS/NZS 60079 hazardous-area classification specialists
  • Timezone overlap with Australian operations (AWST)
  • First drawing free for new mining clients

§02 — What We Produce

Documentation types for mining projects

HV & MV Substation Documentation

132/11 kV, 66/11 kV, and 33/11 kV substation SLDs, protection schemes, busbar layouts, and AS 2067 / IEEE compliant documentation.

Mine Power Distribution

Distribution switchgear, MCC packages, feeder schedules for hoist winders, crushers, SAG mills, ventilation, and process plant.

Hazardous Area (Ex) Classification

AS/NZS 60079 / IEC 60079 compliant classification drawings, equipment schedules, installation details for Zones 0/1/2 and 20/21/22.

Protection & Coordination Studies

IEEE 1584 arc flash studies, protection relay coordination, and fault-level calculations in ETAP or SKM Power Tools.

Shutdown & Outage Packs

Scope-of-work drawings, isolation schedules, switching documentation, and commissioning packages for planned shutdowns.

BIM / 3D Brownfield Documentation

Conversion of legacy 2D mine infrastructure drawings into coordinated Revit / Navisworks models for facility management.

§03 — Engagement Models

How mining clients work with us

Operator Direct

We work directly for the mining operator under their title block and standards. Typical engagement: brownfield as-built updates, shutdown documentation, compliance updates.

EPC Subcontractor

We act as production drafting under the EPC's title block, invisible to the end client. Typical engagement: project packages, peak capacity support, specialist discipline coverage.

Consultancy Extension

We operate as a dedicated extension of a mining engineering consultancy. Typical engagement: monthly retainer covering multiple project streams with guaranteed capacity.

§04 — Mining FAQ

Questions mining engineering managers ask us

What mining codes do you work to?
AS/NZS 3000 and the AS/NZS 60079 series for Australian mining; NEC 2023 and CSA C22.1 for North American operations; IEC 60364 for international sites. We also maintain operator-specific drafting standards for Rio Tinto, Fortescue, BHP, Anglo American, and Barrick.
Can you handle intrinsically safe (Ex) area classification?
Yes. AS/NZS 60079 and IEC 60079 compliant hazardous-area classification drawings, equipment schedules, and installation details for Zones 0, 1, 2 and dust-zone equivalents 20, 21, 22. We coordinate with your HAZOP outputs.
Do you work with mining EPCs and mid-tier operators as well as tier-1s?
Yes. Our client base spans tier-1 operators, mid-tier mining companies, and EPC contractors serving both. Same quality process; the engagement model scales to project size.
What is your turnaround on mine power distribution documentation?
Single-line diagrams deliver in 3–5 business days. Full MCC and switchgear packages in 2–3 weeks. Shutdown packages in 5–10 business days from scope confirmation. Revision SLA 24 hours on managed engagements.
Do you produce shutdown / outage documentation under time pressure?
Yes. Scope-of-work drawings, isolation schedules, switching documentation, and commissioning packs are a core specialty. We work to compressed shutdown timelines via dedicated teams during planned outage windows.
